
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most notable role was Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in Magnum, P.I. The actor was nominated five times for Emmy Awards as Outstanding Lead Actor In a Drama Series (1980-1988), and was awarded the Emmy Award in 1985. Since the year 2010, Selleck has co-starred as New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. Since 2005, he has portrayed troubled small-town police chief Jesse Stone in nine television films that were based on the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). He has also been seen in over 50 other film and television roles since Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball and Lassiter. He played the regular television role of Monica Geller's romantic lovers Dr. Richard Burke and Lance White on Friends. In addition, he was A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also had a leading role in the TV western The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and is a spokesperson for National Rifle Association (NRA) as well as an endorser on advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
